Peak Fitness course

The course is delivered online through our custom Learnbook with interactive virtual classroom sessions Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9.30am – 11.30AM, as well as a weekly one-on-one tuition session with your trainer on a Wednesday.

Attendance at virtual classroom and your scheduled one-on-one session is compulsory. Due to the intensive nature of this course there is limited availability to engage catch up lessons.

To complete the Peak Fitness Trainer course, each learner is required to undertake a minimum of 70 hours work placement in the industry. (30 hours for Certificate III and 40 hours for Certificate IV) throughout the duration of the program.

ATC staff and trainers will guide you through the process of securing work placement however you will need to find a suitable facility and communicate with the management. A Working With Children check may also be a requirement of the host gym if you are working with people under the age of 18 years.

While you are an enrolled student with ATC all work placement is covered by ATC insurance.

Work placement weeks have been scheduled for:

Certificate III Fitness – The 5th & 6th week of the program, from Monday 21st June to Sunday 4th July.

Certificate IV Fitness – The 14th & 15th week of the program, from Monday 23rd August to Sunday 5th September.

Upon commencement of this course ATC will send you the following equipment pack:

  • Course Guide
  • Work Placement Kit
  • Health Screening Kit, which includes: blood pressure machine, dynamometer, skin fold calipers and tape measure
  • Access to our online learning system

  • A computer
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Camera and microphone to interact with virtual classroom sessions

Students must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

Students under the age of 18 will need parents permission for enrolment.

Certificate III Fitness component is subsidised by NSW Smart and Skilled. Eligibility conditions apply.

If you already hold a current First Aid certificate you will be required to provide ATC with a copy of this certificate.

If you do not hold a current First Aid certificate it will be delivered as part of the course. A date to complete this portion will be organised after enrolments are finalised and scheduled outside the Peak Fitness class schedule.

What is Peak Fitness? 

Peak Fitness is an intensive training course that combines two nationally accredited qualifications aimed at qualifying the person who completes it to work as a gym instructor, group fitness instructor or Personal Trainer.

What qualifications will I get if I complete Peak Fitness?

How much does Peak Fitness cost? 


Certificate III Fitness in subsided by NSW Smart and Skilled.

Can I pay off the fees with a payment plan? 

Yes, we can arrange a payment plan. It is the students/payers responsibility to make payments according to the payment plan/schedule and pay their fees prior to the completion of the course.

Qualifications and certificates will not be sent if there are outstanding fees.

What is the minimum age? 

Students must be 16 years old to commence the course. Students under 18 years of age will need parental consent to participate.

Do I need to do work experience? 

Yes. Work placement is compulsory. A total of 70 hours work placement in a gym is required.

Students should secure their own placement. ATC will provide copies of insurances and other information needed. If the student needs assistance to approach a gym to take them for work placement we can assist but the student should practice approaching people with such a request. Is attendance during class sessions compulsory? 

Yes. Attendance at both weekly sessions plus your scheduled one-on-one session is compulsory.

What happens if I am sick or cannot attend a session? 

The student should advise their trainer that they are unable to attend a class ASAP.
