If you like rock climbing, outdoor work and using machinery:
We require a trainee to complete an Australian Apprenticeship in Certificate III Arboriculture (tree surgeon/tree climbing).
Will be trained in the safe use of all machinery and equipment, rigging (mechanical winch), chainsaws, chipper, some elevated work platforms and cranes. Other duties and training include:
- Tree climbing
- Root mapping with air spade
- Tree care/removal
- Learn to use ropes
- Trim and shape/pruning
- Pest and disease control
Most work is in eastern suburbs. Drivers Licence, transport and Whitecard required. Must be fit for physical work. 3 years on the job including 18 months – 2 years at Ryde TAFE.
TAFE fees are government subsidised, no fees and attendance is paid work time. Hours are Monday – Friday 7am – 3.30pm. Some overtime may be required. Wages are paid under the National Training Wage.
