We require a Trainee to complete an Australian Apprenticeship in Certificate III Arboriculture (tree surgeon/tree climbing).
Will be trained in the safe use of all machinery and equipment, front end loader, rigging (mechanical winch), chainsaws, some elevated work platforms and cranes. Other duties and training include:
- Tree care/removal
- Driving truck (will obtain MR licence)
- Learn to use ropes
- Trim and shape/pruning
- Stump removal
Most work is in residential and some commercial premises, in north western Sydney and northern suburbs.
Drivers Licence, transport and Whitecard required. Must be fit for physical work. 3 years on the job including 18 months – 2 years at Ryde TAFE. TAFE fees are government subsidies and attendance is paid work time. Hours are Monday – Friday 7am – 3.30pm. Some overtime may be required.
